Feeding Instructions
Every cat is a little different, so the ideal feeding amount may vary with age, neuter status, environment, and activity level. Use the feeding information as a starting guideline and adjust as required to maintain optimal body weight. Ask your veterinarian if you’re unsure. Always provide plenty of clean, fresh water and hugs.
Weight Adult Cat Daily Feeding Guidelines (cups/day (8oz measuring cup)
Up to 4 lbs 1/4 – 1/3 cup
5–9 lbs 1/3 – 2/3 cup
10–14 lbs 2/3 – 3/4 cup
Over 14 lbs 3/4 cup plus 1/4 cup for each additional 4 lbs
This food provides complete and balanced nutrition for the maintenance of adult cats. This formula is not intended as the sole diet for growing kittens, pregnant or lactating cats – as they have special nutritional needs that require a difference balance of protein, calories, and other nutrients.
Transition Instructions
Gradually transition your pet to any new food over the course of 7-14 days to help avoid the digestive upset that abrupt changes in diet can cause. If your pet tends to be on the sensitive side, it may be best to take a little extra time.
Start by feeding your pet a mix of 25% new food and 75% old food for the first few days.
Then, increase the amount of new food to about 50% and feed that half-and-half mix for a few days.
Proceed to feeding 75% new food/25% old food for the next few days.
Complete the transition by feeding just the new food on its own.
